Sophia Henri en Tigo

Sophia, Henri and Tigo came to see us and Valentina!

Thursday night Henri en Sophia came from Switzerland to spend a day with us in Merano.
It was really nice to see them together with Valentina! It made us realize again how much we will miss our friends here in Italy and how happy they can make us by visiting us!
We hope this will be the first of many visits of you all.

Sophia and Henri were of course with Tigo and he looved going to the outdoor swimming pool at the Terme in Merano! We had marvellous weather and a relaxing afternoon together (see photos on the new album) topped by Gelati from Constantin...

Pity they had to leave in the evening to start their journey back to the Netherlands.
Cassie, Valentina and I ended up going to the Trauttsmanndorff Botanical Gardens to meet Heike and join the first cocktail evening at the gardens; part of the summer programme of events Heike put together.

At 10 pm we headed home as Valentina started showing signs of being upset and tired. We feared a horrible night but it ended up being the best ever. Valentina slept almost nine hours; and so did we!
I must add that she slept the whole night on my chest (!)

But if that works, hey...we're happy!

Davide and Valentina!

Dear friends,

We had a few busy days of traveling here due to visits.
Davide was supposed to fly in with Alex and Jessica from Amsterdam leaving Friday afternoon 2 pm for Verona. At 3 am we get a phone call from Austin Texas that father and sister had to have an emergency landing there instead of in Houston due to dangerous weather conditions. They ended up missing their flight to Amsterdam and Davide his travel pals. I ended up having to arrange a last minute KLM booking for a UM (Unaccompained Minor) flight a few hours later...to Milano.

That saved the plans of having Davide here (and he had to leave already yesterday to go back to school) but transformed it into a 9 hour drive (back and forth) to Malpensa and Saturday into picking up Alex & Jessica in Verona.

We still managed to spend quality time together. Everybody was in awe for Valentina, of course; Davide practicing holding her and cuddling his little sister. He was really curious and caretaking her! Of course Davide LOVED going to the Thermae outdoor swimming pool with me and Jessica (see photo album).
Sunday night nonno and nonna joined us at Miramonti for dinner together.

The weather has been pretty wet and chilly lately but that leaves the air crisp and clear for us to enjoy.

We'll keep reporting on Grandpa and Auntie Jessica's stay here 'till next Sunday.

My Best,
Lorenzo
